COURT REDISTRICTING UPDATE

On November 2, 2021, the Dallas County Commissioners Court adopted a new Justice of the Peace and Constable map. The map redrew precinct lines across Dallas County.

Precinct 4 now includes the following cities: Coppell, Carrollton, Irving, Grand Prairie, Cedar Hill, and parts of Desoto. However, this court did lose jurisdiction over Duncanville, Glenn Heights and some of Desoto moving forward. These cities are now part of Precinct 1.

El 2 de Noviembre del 2021, la Corte del Comisionado del Condado de Dallas adoptó un nuevo mapa para las Cortes de Paz y los Alguaciles. El nuevo mapa dividió nuevas lineas de precintos a lo largo del condado de Dallas.

El Precinto 4 ahora incluye nuevas ciudades como Coppell, Carrollton, Irving, Grand Prairie, Cedar Hill, y algunas partes de Desoto. Judge Moreno Photo

Judge Sasha Moreno was elected to serve as Dallas County Justice of the Peace 4-2 in 2018. As of November 2021, Precinct 4 now includes Carrolton, Coppell, Irving, Grand Prairie, Cedar Hill, Desoto, and Ovilla.

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Judge Moreno received her Bachelors of Art in Journalism and Political Science from the University of North Texas. She is also a graduate of Pepperdine School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor and Masters in Dispute Resolution.

As an attorney, Judge Moreno has extensive experience advocating for clients in both federal and state courtrooms. She has practiced law in the areas of immigration, foreclosure defense and corporate transactions.

The Justice of the Peace Courts in Dallas County hear thousands of cases each year and millions of dollars in fines and costs are collected that benefit the taxpayers of Dallas County and the State of Texas.

Judge Moreno currently presides over evictions, small claims, debt claims, traffic and other legal matters. She pledges to give everyone access to the justice system and provide an equal opportunity to receive a fair and just outcome.

Judge Moreno is committed to serving her community and is active in various organizations and professional associations. She currently resides in Irving, Texas along with her brother and sister.
